Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Fair 2012, organised by the HKTDC, will be held during 8-10 November at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC).The Asia''s biggest wine event offers fine wines, mass market wines, wine logistics and storage, wine equipment and accessories, and wine investment and education.
Wine Education, a new zone in 2012, will be a focal point for a number of interesting events. These activities will capture the attention of both wine industry players and general public, imparting information in an authoritative and entertaining way to deepen wine appreciation.
Several highlights of the fair:
• Cathay Pacific Hong Kong International Wine & Spirit Competition has become the region''s most prestigious event. Run in collaboration with the renowned London-based International Wine & Spirit Competition, the Competition is created specifically for the Asian market by those who know and are intimately involved in the region.
• Fine Wine Tasting returns, offering the chance to try some of the world''s very best, most sought-after wines.
• Cocktail Demonstration returns with all the excitement and theatrics of cocktail presentation.
• Wine Industry Conference is a high-level meeting of industry experts sharing their knowledge of wines, wine technology, and wine markets.
• Asia Top Sommelier Summit is an annual event with leading sommeliers discussing recent developments in the industry and their impact.
The 2011 fair hosted a record attendance of over 900 exhibitors from 37 countries and regions, promoting Old World Wines and New World Wines. Visitor numbers also set a new fair record with over 19,000 trade buyers coming from 71 countries and regions, a 37% increase over 2010.
